First, a hearty thanks to Pam and CJ for hosting the meeting, and
especially to Pam for the delicious meal!
The first order of business was to fill out the form for the Arizona
non-profit articles of incorporation. It was determined that:
- The fiscal year would begin on July 1;
- Our name would be Central Arizona Chapter of the European
Train Enthusiasts;
- Purpose is to be a Model Railroad club;
- Charter of Affairs: we will check with the San Diego chapter for
their example;
- Board of Directors: the president, vice president, secretary,
treasurer;
- Known place of business: president's address;
- Statutory Agent: president;
- Incorporators: president and secretary;
There is an initial filing fee of $40.
The discussion next turned to modular layouts. It was moved, seconded
and approved to purchase a corner module from Mr. Kuhn's business. We
would stick with the national ETE modular standards. C.J. will get the
price with shipping, and the members will be assessed the cost (see
motion below).
After a discussion of local dues, a motion to asses as initial dues the
costs of the modular kit as mentioned above, and the cost of
incorporating was made, seconded, and passed.
The next club meeting will be on 23 June, and Tim Taylor's business
where we will have the opportunity to buy portions of Sam Taylor's
collection.
It was announced the annual Euro-West convention of the ETE is July
14-15 in San Carlos, CA at the Hiller Aviation Museum.
After the formal meeting, everyone had a relaxing afternoon discussing
trains, and seeing CJ's collection and layouts in process.
Members in attendance: CJ Hanselman (and Pam), Steve Debi Young, Fred
(and
Virginia) Rayher, Bob Rebsamen, Jim (and Marge) Poor, Tim and
Karen Johnson. Potential member Kent Taylor also attended.
Respectfully submitted,
Tim Johnson, secretary
