Central Arizona Chapter
March Minutes
The meeting was held at the home of Fred and Virginia Rayher. Virginia
served a terrific meal, and we were given a tour the well constructed
building which houses Fred's layout room and storage area. We also saw
the wonderful assortment of model railroad items that Fred has
collected over the years.
The business meeting was called to order by CJ. All members were
reminded to send in their national ETE dues if they haven't already
done so.
On the topic of module layouts, CJ related that he and Bob Rebsamen had
discussed ordering a kit from Kuhn Eurobahn Trains
(http://www.eurobahntrains.com/). This would give us the opportunity to
examine one and see if we can improve it. Steve Young volunteered to
contact an ETE San Diego member he knows to give advice on modules. ETE
provides a specification for modules which can be found at
http://www.ete.org/modspecs2.htm, and general information about the
Module Special Interest Group (SIG) can be found from the topics at the
ETE web site (http://www.ete.org/) in the "Members" area. Everyone felt
this was subject was worthwhile pursuing.
The remainder of the day was spent discussing various topics and
enjoying the friendship of our group.
Members present were CJ Hanselman, Steve (and Debi) Young, Fred (and
Virginia) Rayher, Delon Freije, Sam Taylor, Jim (and Margie) Poor, Tim
(and
Karen) Johnson.
Respectfully submitted,
Tim Johnson, Secretary
