The June meeting was held at the Chandler Marie Calendar
Restaurant. The meeting was called to order at 12:25 by CJ. In
attendance
were C.J. Hanselman, Jim Poor, Alfred Rayher, Bill Nagle, Andy O'Brien, Steve and
Debi Young, Bob Rebsamen, Tim and Karen
Johnson. Also present was Kent Taylor.
Old Business:
- Regarding national ETE help in recruiting, CJ reported that
Blaine Bachman said that advertising in Model Railroader has been
discussed. There are no fliers available for chapters to use. There
will be a teleconference of chapter officials prior to the Euro West
convention.
- We have link to our chapter web site from the Litchfield Station
web site. When the web site of Roy's Train World is revised, our link
will be placed there as well.
- Modules:
- Three corner module tables are complete. One needs to be
framed. We still need to figure out a system for legs. We want these
modules to be ready for the Rail Fest in October.
- Bob reports he has had no response to his query about K
track. After a discussion about getting used track at Euro West, there
was concern about getting track in time for Rail Fest. It was decided
Bob will go ahead and order track and the chapter members will
reimburse him. CJ will call Loco-Boose for prices, and compare with
prices at EuroRail Hobbies.
New Business:
- Euro West: Alfred offered to take his van to the convention if
some
others were interested in going and would share the driving and costs.
There was interest from some members, but it was too early for anyone
to make a commitment.
- The July 12 meeting will be at Roy's Train World. Tim of Roy's
will conduct a clinic on locomotive maintenance.
- It was suggested that we also consider Litchfield Station for a
possible clinic on DCC decoder installation. Also, anyone who knows a
expert on any topic can make a suggestion for such a clinic for a
future meeting.
- We discussed the possibility of finding a regular place to meet.
Several possibilities were suggested which should be checked out.
- Bill brought up the suggestion of a chapter tee shirt which could
help identify us at outings, conventions, swap meets, etc. The purpose
would be to attract questions about our chapter and its activities.
Several ideas were discussed. We will continue to think about this, but
for now, our focus must be on finishing the modules in time for Rail
Fest.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 1:35.
Respectfully submitted,
Tim Johnson, Secretary.
