Central Arizona Chapter
June Minutes

The meeting was held on 23 June, 2007 at Tim Taylors place of business. It was called to order at noon by C.J.

Present were C.J. Hanselman (and Pam), Steve and Debi Young, Bob Rebsamen, Jim Poor (and Marge), Tim and Karen Johnson. Also present were Delon Freije, Kent Taylor, and Tim Taylor.

The minutes of the May meeting were approved as read.

Old Business:

A question regarding the need to incorporate as an Arizona non-profit organization was discussed. The national ETE is incorporated as a non-profit already, and we are a chapter of that. Steve sent a note to the national ETE requesting clarification, and also for recommendations for a model of local by-laws. He is awaiting a response.

Modules: Kuhn Eurobahn Trains has not yet provided pricing for a corner module. From the pictures of these modules, it was clear they are pretty simple. We might be able to save quite a bit if we purchase the raw materials and build them ourselves. A decision will be made after we receive the price from Mr. Kuhn.

New business:

There was a discussion about bringing our small club layout to the Scottsdale Rail Fest in the fall. A decision about this will be made when more information is available.

Steve suggested future meetings include a workshop or clinic on various topics. These how-to sessions would be of great interest and benefit to all. We are all enthusiastic about this. The next step is to come up with topics, and find leaders from within our club or outside who would conduct these workshops.

Sam Taylor's European train collect was available for all to see and purchase items if desired.

A special thanks to Tim Taylor for allowing us to use the room at his business for this meeting.

Reminder: the annual Euro-West convention of the ETE is July 14-15 in San Carlos, CA at the Hiller Aviation Museum.

The July meeting is tentatively set for July 21. Place of meeting to be decided by e-mail correspondence.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:30 PM.

Respectfully submitted,
Tim Johnson, Secretary
