Central
Arizona Chapter
July Minutes
The July meeting was held
at Andy and Debbie O'Brien's home in Mesa.
Present at
the meeting were Andy and Debbie O'Brien,
Art and Barbara Bailey, and Tim
and Karen
Johnson.
Thanks to Andy and Debbie for hosting a great meeting.
The main topic for discussion was preparation for the October Rail
Fair. Continued work on scenery for the corner modules is needed. We'd
like to have the scenery completed on all modules for this Rail Fair.
Andy brought up the following discussion points:
- Since there's
only one DC locomotive among us, convert the outer loop to run Marklin
digital or AC powered trains.
- Maybe set up
each track to run with either digital or AC power, for ultimate
flexibility
- Figure out
how to connect Marklin digital to the existing K track.
- rerailers?
Available?
- Use modular
phone jacks to speed power hookup between modules as necessary
- Simplify
installation of connector tracks between modules
- Is there a
show in Tucson where we could set up?
- Make a list
of tools needed for each show
- A level
could allow us to achieve uniform train speed
- Power
strips as necessary
- A dolly
makes it easy to move modules from autos to display areas
Art mentioned we should consider running bus wire under the
modules with track feeder wires to provide better electrical
conductivity and digital signal integrity to the track.
Our next
meeting will be at Art and Barbara's home in Goodyear on September
13. Time TBA.
Respectfully submitted,
Tim Johnson, Secretary
