Central
Arizona Chapter
February Minutes
The February meeting was held
at the Mimi's
Cafe in Casa Grande on February 11 at 11 AM..
Present at
the meeting were Bob Rebsamen, Andy
and Debbie O'Brien, Art and Barbara Bailey, Bob and Nancy Aleska, Tom
Cossaboom, Clyde and Pam Hanselman, and
Tim
and Karen
Johnson.
Welcome to new and returning members Tom Cossaboom, Clyde Hanselman,
and Jim Poor.
Our primary discussion centered around Andy's proposal that we replace
some of the K-Track on the modules with C-Track. It has become more
difficult and time consuming to connect the modules due to problems
inherent in the properties of K-Track. C-Track is better suited to
frequent connection/disconnection, and should improve the time to
assemble modules, as well as give us better operation once assembled.
It was unanimously approved to proceed with the details of conversion
to include determining how much C-Track would be needed, how it would
be placed to ensure interchangeable module connections, and cost. This
would take place at our next Chapter meeting. Andy's proposal can be
found here.
Barbara suggested we should look for venues in addition to Rail Fair to display our modules. Bob R. said that we’d have to look into it because of the advance
time
needed, but that he thought it was worth pursuing. Several others voiced agreement. We can discuss this further at our
April meeting, and begin to
search other opportunities.
As usual, there was great general discussion of European trains, and we
enjoyed the meal together.
The next meeting will be on April 1 at 11 AM at
the O'Brien home. The main topic will be use of C Track on the modules.
Respectfully submitted,
Tim Johnson, Secretary
