Central Arizona Chapter
February Minutes
The February meeting was held on the 9th at the Chandler Marie Calendar
Restaurant. The meeting was called to order by CJ at 11:30. In
attendance were
C.J. Hanselman, Bob Rebsamen, Steve and Debi Young,
Tim and Karen Johnson, Jim Poor, Andy
O'Brien, Alfred Rayher.
Old Business: None.
New Business:
Membership for 2008-- CJ remarked that some past members have
not renewed their membership yet for 2008, and have not been present at
any meeting for some time. The secretary will contact Margrit Laman,
Sam Samaha, Swen Elfving, and Noel Hall to encourage them to rejoin us
if they are still interested.
ETE AZ Chapter Web Site-- CJ suggested it was time to update the
web page for our chapter, and to see that our chartered status was
reflected in the national ETE web pages. Tim will make a preliminary
design for the chapter web page(s), and also ask the ETE web master to
make appropriate updates on the National web pages to reflect our
status.
Modules-- We have the template for making end pieces. CJ and
Alfred have made several wooden end pieces using the template. The next
step is to start work on the end module. This will be approximately 72"
x 42". The next meeting will be primarily devoted to working on this
end module. CJ asked every one to think of ideas for scenery for this
module. Larger power tools will be available. If you have a favorite
hand tool you want to bring such as a cordless drill/driver, feel free
to do so.
Current Club Layout-- We discussed briefly what to do with the
current club layout. It is useful as a stand-alone layout, and is very
attractive. One suggestion was to convert it into a "children's layout"
with push buttons to operate it and a plexi-glass cover.
The meeting was adjourned at 1:36.
The March meeting will be at Alfred and Virgina Rayher's house. We will
start at 10:00. Directions will be provided later.
The April meeting will be in Tucson at Tim and Karen Johnson's house.
We are looking for volunteers to host meetings for the next six months
beginning in May. Remember, hosts may have the meeting at their home,
or make reservations at a restaurant if you like. If you are hosting at
home, it's up to you whether you wish to provide a meal or have us all
chip in for something brought in (pizza, sub sandwiches, etc.).
Respectfully submitted,
Tim Johnson, Secretary
