Central Arizona Chapter
December Minutes
The December meeting was held on the 13th at the home of Andy O'Brien.
Many thanks to Andy for hosting and providing the delicious meal.
Present at the meeting were CJ Hanselman, Jim Poor, Andy O'Brien, Chuck
Weart, Bob Rebsamen, Kent Taylor, Tim and Karen Johnson.
The meeting was called to order at 12:00 PM by CJ.
Old Business:
- Membership Growth:
- We discussed again the lack of national ETE leadership in
providing general advertising for membership, and for lack of guidance
and promotional materials to local chapters.
- A suggestion was made to ask the national ETE to consider
approaching the major European train hobby suppliers proposing the ETE
provide promotional fliers be included in customer orders as a way of
attracting more members. It is also possible the hobby suppliers would
allow a link to the ETE web site from their own.
- A suggestion was made to ask the national ETE to look into
advertising in Model Railroader and other train magazines as a way of
promoting the organization.
- Chapter subscription to Continental Modeller Magazine
- Tim Johnson had been paying for a subscription in the past, but
due to
unfavorable exchange rates, was planning on dropping his subscription.
At the November meeting, he proposed the chapter split the subscription
cost, and issues be bucked around to each member. The 2009 rate was
found to be $82.50. The chapter decided to split the cost of an annual
subscription to Continental Modeller. Tim will continue to bring new
issues to the meetings, and a "buck" list will be attached so every
member will have the opportunity to read each issue.
New Business:
- Elections of Officers
- Nominations from the floor included
- President - Bob Rebsamen
- VP - CJ Hanselman
- Treasurer - Jim Poor
- Secretary - Tim Johnson
- The above slate was elected
- Collection of 2009 Dues
- Chapter dues of $10 and national dues of $20 were collected.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 12:55.
Our next meeting is tentatively set to be at the home of Chuck Weart on
January 10.
Respectfully submitted,
Tim Johnson, Secretary
